This article details how to recover passwords and keys saved in browsers using Recuva. The instructions will help you retrieve important data that has been lost.
Launch Recuva and select the file type you want to recover. In this case, it will be All files, as passwords and keys can be saved in various formats. Click Next.
Select the location for the search. If you know the exact place from which the files were deleted, specify it. If not, choose the option On my computer. Click Next.
For a more precise search, enable the option Enable Deep Scan. This may take more time but will increase the likelihood of successful recovery. Click Start.
Upon completion of the scan, Recuva will show a list of found files. Look for files that may contain passwords and keys, such as files with extensions .json, .sqlite, .dat, and others. Select the necessary files and click Recover.
Save the recovered files in a safe place. Now you need to extract passwords and keys from these files. For this, you can use specialized programs or tools for analyzing browser data.
For Google Chrome, use ChromePass or similar utilities. These programs can automatically scan files and extract saved passwords and keys. Run the utility and follow the instructions to import the recovered files.
For Mozilla Firefox, use PasswordFox or similar programs. These utilities will also help extract and recover passwords from the recovered files. Run the program and specify the path to the recovered files.
After extracting the passwords and keys, save them in a secure place. Make sure you have backed up the recovered data to avoid losing the information again.
